Im hoping one of the audio geniuses on here can help me. I have a PCI-e X-FI Fatality Titanium Champion Edition, and I just bought a E-MU 1616m PCI. Here is my setup:
Core i7 MSI x58 platinum SLI mobo 12GB RAM Nvidia gts 250 Windows XP Pro x64 (fully updated), but can do Windows 7 x64 Ultimate if needed. I am having trouble having both these cards installed at the same time. I have been told by EMU support that its not possible because they both use the same ASIO drivers so windows gets confused and has random blue screen errors or crashes. Is this true? Does anyone know of some way to get them to both run at the same time? I would really appreciate any help. If it doesnt work, i'll probably sell it on Ebay or something and get an M-Audio card instead. Thanks! |

Re: X-Fi Fatality Champion and 1616m PCI, HELP!
Quote:
- many of their driver files are named equally (asio and many DSP related files) ... you even can get Audigy series cards working by installing E-MU drivers) - DSP chips are not equal (you might try to get it working by installing E-MU 1st and then X-Fi since IIRC, the X-Fi DSP is backward compatible) So, propably there's no way to get these work properly. Either getting another brand card (M-Audio, ESI, etc.) or build a multiboot system might be the answer (on multiboot system, both these cards can be installed though the other one needs to be disabled through device manager on each setup). jiitee |
