No sound device found with c-media AC97
I am working on an xp xp3 system and I have no sound. In device mgr, it shows "this device cannot start-code 10" on the c-media ac97 audio device. I have uninstalled it and re-booted, downloaded the driver and it won't install in safe or regular mode. It is a pc that was built by a computer store in house. It has XP home prem sp3 running an amd processor @ 1.7 ghz. It has 512mb ram and an 80gb hd. I can't see a name on the MOBO,but the model # is SiS741, but the bios is Phoenix Award. I have eliminated any infections.
There are a lot of complaints on the forums from 2006 and 2007, but nothing current. Can anyone help? Thanks |

Re: No sound device found with c-media AC97
Some times it happens like that, some times system does not supports sound driver, you do one thing consult with a hardware manager.
