A problem with Philips wireless headphones
Hi there, hopefully you can help me in this matter.
So, I've got those Philips wireless headphones (HC8415). Really good headphones (in my opinion anyways) but there's one problem I'd like to get rid of... This model does have a feature which enables the transmitter to turn on when it notices an audio signal coming, it also turns off when there has not been any audio signal for a while. Well... for some reason the transmitter does not always recognize audio signal at all, this happens with a few avi files for example. And in some games the transmitter is constantly switching on and off because it does not regocnize background music as an audio signal. I've got those headphones for some time now, and I think I have lost my receipt so I can't return them either. I know I should have taken this matter up as soon as I noticed this problem, but I thought it was a minor design annoyance since I don't play games that much anyway, but as soon as I noticed that this problem exists with some avi files as well... That's not acceptable at all. I have Audigy sound card with latest official drivers. (Also tried A2 drivers). Today I am going to test the headphones on another system and another sound card to see if it also has this problem. Since there are very skillful and knowledgeable persons here, I thought you might know something and be able to help me. Any suggestions? |

Hmm...
Sounds like to be there isn't much you can do about fixing this than turning up the volume in windows. Does the transmitter have anyway of adjusting the gain setting? |

I don't think upping the volume in Windows has any effect on this. And the transmitter does not have adjustable gain setting.
Although I enabled the onboard audio (first time ever since I bought the mobo ) and I am now using headphones on it. I am still testing howewer.

As unbelievable as it might sound (or then not, it's an Audigy after all
) but looks like my headphones can pick up audio signals correctly when I use onboard integrated audio. So far the headphones have worked correctly in two occasions when watching videos where the transmitter would power down eventually if I had used it on Audigy.Fair enough... Although it seems that my Audigy is about useless now.
