Extigy : buy or not buy ?

I want to know :

Is it a good idea to buy an Extigy ?

What do you think about this soundcard ?

There is a best choice or not ?

Here we are.

I have it and I like it very much. It has DD 5.1 decoder build in.

But buy Audigy 2.

Bought the Audigy 2 and had nothing, but problems with blue screens etc. Followed all the Audigy instructions with latest drivers etc. Others have had similar problems, but for most it has turned out to be a great card. I went back to Santa Cruz with their 4193 drivers and love it. My suggestion, Buy where you can RMA it!

Personally I wouldn't buy it because the KX drivers don't support it.

I heard dEykee having tons of problems with it (try searching this forum a bit, I think many were posted here).

There are solutions from creative labs, m-audio or yamaha (cavit) ?

And Kazman why do you prefer an audigy2 if you like your extigy ? There are many problems ?

creative labs is pretty dependable... extigy i would say is only good for mutlimedia notebooks i would say since there are no internal audigy/live cards

I would have to say if I was going to buy an external why not go all out?

There is another one I can't think of at the moment that is quite a bit cheaper and is close in specs/performance.
