No 7.1 sound. PLEASE HELP!
I've put up with this for ages now but since i have a few days off work, i thought i'd try and sort it.
The Kit - X-FI Extremegamer, Creative T7700 7.1 speakers, Win 7 64 bit (although i had the same problem on previous setup of Vista 64). The problem - I can only ever get 6 (plus subwoofer) of my 7 speakers to work. The speaker that doesn't work is dependent on how i plug in the audio connection cables. If i have the system set up as per instructions ie 4 jacks to speaker and 3 to sound card, its the front centre speaker that doesn't work. I've checked all the settings in Playback Devices and in Creative Console and its set for 7.1. Whats more, in Playback Devices, when i click on the piccy of the front speaker for sound test, the equaliser thingy next to the Speakers (in Sound/Playback) shows that sound is registering. Its just not coming thought the speaker. I've tried new drivers, tested all the speakers and speaker ports by swapping them around and am at my wits end! I contacted Creative support and got a ridiculous cut and paste email that was about as useful as suggesting i turn my PC on and off again.... Thanks for nothing Creative. I really am out of ideas here. Really grateful if someone has seen this before and can help. Cheers - Jim |

Re: No 7.1 sound. PLEASE HELP!
All speakers work fine. I've tested each port and each speaker separately. I wish it was that simple!
