Can anyone help me here?
I have the Creative Inspire 5200 (5.1) speakers, they worked perfectly for Live! and Audigy cards, but now that I'm using the onboard nvidia nforce Soundstorm, the center channel is gone, I can only use them in 4 speaker mode. When I select 5.1 in the soundstorm CP, and do a test, I can only hear the BASS (you know, the bass level of the voice) when it is passing through the center channel and at the end, the correct bass tune, so I assume the center is not getting any input from the sound card, but in the equalizer, it is showing that the voice is playing correctly through the center. (could it be a +/- cable problem???) Is there any way to fix this through the registry? Or by buying something? (not another set of speakers, please )Thanks! |

Hi Omega,
Go here, click on beta and download the Asus Swap out utility. It should correct your problem. Quote:

Many thanks Necrosis, I didn't know that utility existed since almost all MBs that have integrated 5.1 sound also have a jumper to swap the center/bass channels, and I never saw that jumper on any of the nforce MBs I have tested.
That did it, thread closed
