Realtek HD Audio Drivers - Windows 7
Ok so I'm having a problem. My mic level is so low no one can even hear me, even on +40db for the microphone boost.
I know it's not the microphone because when I have the generic Windows HD Audio drivers installed the mic works just fine. The reason as to why I need the Realtek ones is because I'm streaming me playing a game and I need the "Stereo Mixer" to be able to output my game sounds. If someone could help me, that would be awesome, I'm really in a slump right now. I've been googling this the past 2 days and still can't figure out why it doesn't work. Oh if it helps, my motherboard is an ASUS P6X58D. I have the mic plugging into the front panel and I've tried it in the back as well, same results. Edit: The reason I mentioned my motherboard is because I'm using the integrated audio. Last edited by SieRobin; Sep 19, 2010 at 07:33 PM. |

ASUS P6X58D Motherboard
4GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR3 Memory (I need another stick for triple channel if someone has one for sale.) Intel Core i7 2.7GHz ATI Radeon HD 4870 Video Card I'm not sure if my disc drives and my HDD are really all that much to mention. My power supply is a XION PowerReal 850W. |

Re: Realtek HD Audio Drivers - Windows 7
Usually through the Realtek Audio manager or through the sound devices... make sure it's set as default communcation device or default device..
and then make sure that both the volume slider and boost is set to the required values. also double checking this by keeping the sound device manager open on the page to show the volume levels being captured... while making sure you have nothing playing back.. While personally i've only had a SINGLE motherboard with the realtek audio chip onboard give me a similare issue (windows 7 default high definition audio driver giving me proper levels and the realtek driver giving me jack squat), this is not a very common issue. (unless it's an OEM computer which generall sucks at everything) Play with the audio imput frequencies and bit rates too... I've seen a soundmax ADI chip where if 48khz 16bit stereo is selected for mic in.... the mic would only pick up excessively loud noises and just barely..... setting it to 44khz resolved the issue...
