sb live! 0060 and kx drivers

Gigabyte N-68S board, SB Live! 0060 pci card. Windows 7 64 bit. Have always used onboard sound before, but have aquired midi keyboard and above soundcard. I have installed KX drivers and it recognises soundcard. There is no sound coming from speakers and the test says Failed to create sound on all speakers. I have checked device mgr and it shows a problem with "Other devices- pci input device"(yellow !). Also which outputs should be connected in KX mixer to use headphones. I am assured that the card is ok. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated so thanks in advance.

Several things here......

Speaker test does not work with Win7/Vista. Not your hardware and not a flaw with KX, it's a Windows problem..... Don't expect any fix for that, just don't use it.

Default output jack with KX drivers is the rear jack (the black one) this can be changed in KX mixer or just use the black jack depending on your situation...... with headphones you may want to continue to use the green jack if there is a volume problem with the black one.

The Yellow exclamation mark is the joystick port...... there is no Win7 joystick port driver as MS has decided to remove support for 15 pin joysticks, but the XP one has been known to work on a 32bit system. You are out of luck for any joystick driver for 64bit as far as I know. Midi should work without the joystick driver but some guys are having issues with MIDI and Win7 64bit on the older cards..... Try it. If there's no MIDI or delayed sound to MIDI input you may have to use another method that Windows supports (USB-MIDI)
