No Sound Audigy2 SB0350
Hello everyone, I'm a newbie with, compared to most posts here, a rather basic problem.
I have a Dell 8300, running W7, with installed Audigy2 (SB0350) sound card. I don't have high audio requirements and have a cheap pair of Logitech X-140 speakers connected. I was suffering loud crackling noise using the Creative drivers and researching the web suggested that this would be fixed by installing the drivers in the KX3550 pack. Having run the program, the kx driver is shown in Device Manager. Unfortunately, I have no sound (iTunes etc). If anyone can point me to what I'm doing wrong, I'd be very grateful. Many thanks. |

Re: No Sound Audigy2 SB0350
KX swaps the front and rear outputs as default so plug into the rear jack (black on some cards) OR uncheck the "swap front/rear" box on the main page of KX mixer.
You will probably want to use SPDIF/AC3 as your default output device in windows audio panel. Win7's Master Mixer is what causes the crackling....... does it in KX too.

Re: No Sound Audigy2 SB0350
Thanks for the quick reply Tyronswood and sorry for the delay in responding - I had a hard disk failure! However, I've now replaced the disk and re-installed everything. I did as suggested in your post but had no sound at all. Finally, I twigged and went to "Sound" in control panel and realised I needed to make SPDIF/AC3 the default output....Doh! Now working fine and without the crackling. Very many thanks for your help.
