I do have a headset atm frpm creative its getting old through. I've got my eyes on these headsets Razer Carcharias Gaming Headset [] These razors Steelseries Siberia v2 - Red [51104] The steelseries in a nice red Creative Fatal1ty HS-980 Professional Gaming Headset MkII (51EF0250AA002) [51EF0250AA002] Or these dont look that comfy tbh or would it be headphones with a desk Mic more wires to get tangled with Last edited by phonix1; Nov 26, 2010 at 09:35 PM. |

Re: looking to retire my creative headset what with?
For sound quality in that price range you cant beat the SteelSeries 7H which is less than £10 above the Caracharis. (If you get the model without USB soundcard). It actually sounds very close to the £160 PC360's from Sennheiser.

Re: looking to retire my creative headset what with?
If you find the prices getting a little steep for your liking, you might want to consider the slightly older Creative Fatal1ty headset (the first one).
I bought the CF quite some time ago and it really has done me proud. The sound quality never ceases to amaze me; I can hear the difference between a low-quality MP3 and a decent-quality and games... well, Call of Duty: UO almost sounds like a completely different game. It's because of that headset that I found a distinctive difference in audio quality from my laptop over my desktop PC so I invested in an ASUS Xonar XD; fantastic combo. Anyway, yeah, recommended. It would take some beating.

Re: looking to retire my creative headset what with?
Hi there cheers for the added option. I'm not too sure on the so called 7 channal headsets or 5 to that matter. Bare in mind I do have a dx so dobly would work with most headsets..some seem to work better witn creatives one through
As im lead to believe a decent pair of stero plus a decent sound card. I m coming from one if thise creative headsets so it would need to be a upgrade. Also another reason why us cos they hurt of a while. |

Re: looking to retire my creative headset what with?
Okay cheers for that I ll see if I can find it without the USB soundcard.. Found it with it £110 is rather much for a headset.
So you guys saying the two I mentioned are not great? The Siberia v2 is only £60 from ocuk. While I'm at it ( just trying to get the best for my money here) is there any other headphones or sets with looking at for less than £100? I'm thinking about a webcam you see last time the mic was as good as the one on my headset... But headsets are more practical in terms of price and I don't get tangled in wires |

Re: looking to retire my creative headset what with?
Brand New Steelseries 7H PC Gaming Headset on eBay (end time 30-Nov-10 19:56:17 GMT) £79.99, free postage and a seller with 100% positive feedback on over 1000 transactions.
Not saying the others are bad, just that the 7H is the best I have tested this year other than the PC360 which are £160. |

Re: looking to retire my creative headset what with?
They are, however the 7H has the choice of pads etc which makes them a touch better overall.

Re: looking to retire my creative headset what with?
That is fair enough, but than again my creative headset can't do most things these two are, they get uncomfy after a while and they are too bassy for their own good. Anyway, I'm not likely to change the ear pads, same for the razor. I do understand what you are saying through better bundle = better overall product.
Odd of razor not to give a carry case or something with it. While I'm here how would these two compare to a decent set of headphones like the sanns hds in the se price range there about. |
