Hi, I am new to the forums so apologise if I am putting my question in the wrong place or am not giving the right information.
My computer recently died and so I just installed windows vista onto it today. Now, my sound card - Soundblaster Live! Value - isn't being detected at all as far as I can tell. It used to work in XP although I don't recall how I got it to work. The volume icon in the taskbar says no audio output device installed upon hover, and in the Devices section of the control panel, I can't see ANYTHING related to sound. So I am wondering if it is possible and if so, how to; a ) get the soundcard to be detected in the first place b ) install a driver to get it working. The info I know of my computer is Computer: Lenovo TS100 OS: Windows Vista 32 bit Sound Card: Soundblaster Live! Value (CT4780) |

Re: Soundblaster Live! Value (CT4780) in Windows Vista?
If possible try the sound card in a different PCI slot...... Even without access to proper drivers the computer should see "something" and it would be listed as "unknown device" but with that live card it should show as a media device...... Trying in a different slot might jog the OS into seeing it in the first place.
