Re: need a replacement

How many 460s do you have? 1 or 2? Or, do you have 1 card, but have it in the peach/orange PCIe slot (I hope it's not the latter as that slot is only a 4x slot... the first Blue slot is your main cards slot).

If it's being used on the same board in your specs, and you do have 2 video cards, then your only option is to switch to a PCIe 1x card. Sticking with Creative you could look to the older Creative X-Fi Titanium or Titanium Fatal1ty Pro, the newer X-Fi Titanium HD (DO NOT go with the Audio PCI Express card.. it's crap), or a card from Auzentech. Auzentech builds cards based on the X-Fi chip, such as the Forte 7.1 (a low profile card), and the more popular Bravura 7.1. Going this route would allow you to move the sound card to the top PCIe 1x slot.

Re: need a replacement

hey tipstaff

i have the 1 460 that takes up 2 slots because of the size of him.
That leaves only 1 pci useable and thats directily under the 460 and because of the width of the audigy2 it covers 2thirds of the intake of the fan.

So my question is this ..whats as good as my audigy2 thats either low profile or pcie.

Re: need a replacement

First, however, which motherboard are you using? You list the Gigabyte GA-MA785, but which one is it? Is it the full sized UD3H like in THIS picture, or is it the smaller US2H in THIS picture?

As far as what card to get I would stick with the actual Creative X-Fi cards I listed. The X-Fi Titanium HD is the newest card and most expensive of the cards (usually around $150-180), but it's also better built (better specs, and better components including a dedicated headphone amp). The other 2 X-Fi Titanium cards are good as well, but they are older models.
