Headset Choice
I got some vouchers from work recently that I'm considering spending on a new headset. It wasn't a huge value so the budget's in the region of £100.
I'm after, ideally, a native 5.1 headset to plug into my soundcard and it has to handle bass well. I'm not a bass junkie per sey but I do like the rumble of a 10" sub and when I listen to music with bass, I like to hear the bass. So far the contenders are: Tritton AX Pro CM Storm Sirus Any suggestions? Edit: Can a mod please change the title to say headset instead of headphones? I'd want a mic too.

re: Headset Choice
I've read nothing but good reviews about the Turtle Beach Ear Force Z6A and it's substantially cheaper (about £50) than the ones I've mentioned. Does it measure up or is the lower price tag for a lower quality?

Re: Headset Choice
I've got a dedicated soundcard so using a USB soundcard just seems really pointless to me.
I had a look around some more on headset reviews and came across a thread from a person that was almost in exactly the same boat as me; they had looked around for a surround sound headset to upgrade from a Creative Fatal1ty. They decided on the Turtle Beach DPX21, which is one that I had considered. I had initially dismissed it, however, as it relies on the Turtle Beach DSS for the audio conversion so it wasn't a "true" surround sound headset. However, this person claims that they have used (although not owned) surround sound headsets in the past and thinks that there is no audible difference. I'm willing to give it a go. The DPX21 uses an optical cable for the sound and it's had a lot of good reviews all round. I haven't used "true" surround sound headsets before and I don't have the cash to splash out on a pucker set so I'm going to go by the idea "I don't know what I'm missing". That's just it - I don't know so if these prove to be an acceptable improvement then I'm all for it. If not, I'll take them back under the 14 day returns policy.
