ExterSoundcard CreativeSoundBlasterX-FiSurround5.1Pro vs CreativeSoundBlaster X-Fi HD

Hi,

I have got notebook MSiGT780 and i am goona buy some external soundcard. What do you think about this soundcards are they worthy their price?

In Poland they cost ...
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro = 250PLN = ~73,5$

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD = 350PLN = ~103$

Hmm are they good for Music/Games (Movie sometimes)?? Maybe do you know other better external soundcards so show me it please. I would like to buy soundcard as bast as it is possible (my budget 105$) for games and music. But soundcard has to have really good drivers for microphone beacouse I am gonna make gameplays. So I need as good as it possible voice from microphone.

Plese help me.
Best regards Dominik.

What are your headphone/speakers like? If they're not of a decent quality then it'll be pretty pointless getting a decent sound card.
It says on the MSI website that the laptop is already 7.1 capable...

Yeah i heard that laptop is 7.1 capable but ... ah I have got problem with recording audio from microphone by using this laptop. When I am recording audio by microphone i have a really bad noises :/ I can no reduce them (this bad noises) in GoldWave. I record everythink in Audacity then reducing bad noises in GoldWave. Thats the problem why I am gonna buy a new external soundcard.

My present headset are SteelSeries Siberia v2 without USB soundcard. Do you know maybe why I have got this bad noises when I am recording?

Bad Noises I mean its buzzing... adn they are so big that it is not possible to reduce them in GoldWave.

Best regards Dominik.

Does the headset require additional power, such as a USB? If so, try using a USB power adapter rather than plugging it directly into the PC.
Also, have you tried using another microphone? I think it would be worthwhile borrowing a microphone to test out the onboard soundcard before spending on a new one.

Depending on how old the laptop is I'd say get it changed under warranty or 14-day money-back. If the laptop has a faulty soundcard then it should be rectifiable.
Did you try the headset using the mic with the USB input?

Re: ExterSoundcard CreativeSoundBlasterX-FiSurround5.1Pro vs CreativeSoundBlaster X-F

Hi,

No I havent try headset + microphone with usb input. Hmm laptop is pretty new I bought it maybe 3weeks ago. Hmm You know what. I found solution for my problem wich make my happy only in half. I decided to buy a new microphone with this shitt* sponge on the microphone. I bought this new microphone it cost me 11PLN = ~3,2$ ... ^^ i tryed almost everythink to remove this bad noises in Audacity and Goldwave and eureca I found by myself how to do this.
So first...
1) Recording audio in Audacity by using this new microphone.
2) Removing bad noises in Audacity.
3) Make audio louder in Goldwave.
last step...
4) Removing bad noises in Goldwave.

This help me to remove bad noises in my opinion fully. But still I am with the problem of bad noises when I use TeamSpeak or any voice chat.

You know what I dont want buy a new external soundcard beacuse this soundcard in laptop is pretty good. I mean the sound on headset and speakers is really good. I have got just problem with recording. I think about new microphone on usb. Somethink like this Logitech USB Desktop Microphone Logitech USB Desktop Microphone Review - YouTube What are you thinking about it?
