Problem updating Audigy drivers

I have this weird problem updating the drivers on my Audigy1. With either the cd drivers or the FIRST webupdate, everything works just fine. If I upgrade to the newest Audigy1 drivers or the newest Audigy2 drivers (using the method on this forum) then I have no EAX in games. They still will play through winamp and stuff but if I play Warcraft 3 for example, I get no sound unless switching EAX2 off. If I play JK2 with EAX enabled, I get sound effects but no music. If I throw winamp on, play some music and start warcraft with EAX2 enabled, with winamp still running, winamp goes mute, and I get no sound in warcraft either but winamp resumes immediatly when I quit warcraft. Ive tried uninstall everything=>cd drivers=>audigy1 update2, uninstall all=>cd drivers=>update1=>update2,
uninstall all=>Audigy2=>newest audigy2

However, only the cd drivers and update1 will give me eax sound in games. Im all out of ideas and Creative offered no help at all.

A couple things for you to try.

1. Reinstall DirectX 9b after you update your drivers.

2. Try turning sound acceleration down a notch or two to see if it has any effect.

Fixed it, indirectly helped by this forum. Before comming here I didnt realize you could unrar the driver install.exes. So I unrared webupdate2 and went straight to that, skipping the cd driver step, that seemed to do the trick. Got the apps from the audigy2 driver set because the audigy1 cd doesnt let you install the apps without the drivers too. All set, thanks.
