Sounds in Counterstrike screwed up.

hi guys..i've got a BIG problem..
i jus reformatted my comp..
and installed my sound drivers..
but when i am playing cs, the sounds seeems to be screwed up..
eg. when there's enemy rushing alley, i hear it at middle...
it's totally the opp. and hard to differenciate..
is there anyone out there who know what's the prob?
something wrong with my soundcard? headphone? drivers? =P

btw, i am using eh i'm no sure what sound card i'm using..but this is all i know ------> it's a onboard sound card..sis745 series..C-media mixer..if there's anything more i can provide for you guys..pls let me know..cos i seriously needa solve this quick...thanks in adv!! ^^

Go into Configuration -> Sound in counterstrike, and then tell us which checkboxes you have checked.

make sure the rear channel and front channel are not plugged into their opposite sound output jacks. also, update directx to the latest version to get any directsound bugs taken care of.
