I was just wondering if there are any programs out that are able to remove lyrics from songs completely...not just muffle the lyrics? Anyone know of any good progs.

You're asking for too much
![]() I've previously used Goldwave to edit my music files before and I can enthusiastically recommend it to everyone who wants to edit music. Its features are by far the best and its "lyric muffling" works great for me (you may have to do some other editing etc to get it just right). http://www.goldwave.com Note: I haven't used this program in a while because I haven't needed to edit music in a long time, so I don't really remember all the controls etc, so please don't ask me how to use it.

Hardware wise: you need the right equipment to do it. Software wise: the software that is intended for doing just this costs an arm and a leg. I prefer Sound Forge myself for editing, at least two track anyway. It can be hard to pin down vocals, but like Dallas said it will take some work, AND some time. Good Luck with Goldwave. |

Most (cheap) software that does this kind of thing just assumes that the vocals are going to be in the center of the stereo spectrum so as you say "muffles" or tries to cancel out the same stuff from both channels - bitch of a bitch when you consider that most standard percussion is also centered and therefore will be cancelled out as well
