I have a SB Live card here in my computer and now I'm updated to the 402 drivers. The only thing I installed was the drivers, haven't been able to find the applications to try them. Can't tell a big change yet, haven't had much time, although I'm not sure I'll be able to. Sound is not just like a benchmark, kind of hard to test between two sets of drivers, right?

anyone tried gaming yet 3d audio does not work i have to turn the option off to get sound it will let me enable EAX but again no sound till 3D audio is off strange anyone having gaming problems with them

I took the install cd and compressed it in RAR format. It's now about 465 megs (under high compression). Uncompressed, it's about 550 megs (there's alotta fluff in there...)

I ran my Audigy 1 card with the drivers already posted in this thread just fine. I'm sure these ones will probably require a bit O' hacking luv before they will work.. I don't know how many of the programs will function either...

Tried just the driver pack, but i'm having some problems.

Everytime I install them wehn i reboot i can only run in stereo mode. Kinda defeats the purpose of using them since I have logitech z-640's

I have the full driver CD, and here are my conclusions on it.

The driver pack is perfect. Sound is stunning, much much more improved over previous drivers. Sounds more natural, where as previous drivers sounded synthesized, or too sharp. This one is just right. Apps are ALMOST perfect, but has two nagging problems.

1) THX keeps forgetting settings. This becomes increasingly annoying after you've set up your speakers exactly the way you like it, then it resets or forgets your settings, and you have to keep resetting it to your parameters. Believe me, if this app works like it should, it is the golden charm that we've been waiting for.

2) The biggest problem of all, EAX console/EAX doesn't apply your presets correctly. Go ahead try it. Make your own preset, save it, then apply another preset, like another EQ (Disco, for example). Then try switching back to your custom preset. It won't apply all the way, or it won't apply at all. This is a real nagging problem that must be addressed ASAP.

Otherwise, I see that Creative is at least making progress in making better drivers. The sound quality in games is real nice, and sounds a lot more natural. Directional audio is much more improved, as is sound panning.

Any other issues I haven't found yet, but this is what I've found so far.

The 500MB package is not only the drivers, it include all the apps, DirectX 9.0b, Acrobat reader, ect...

Yes, there is a decent chunk of fluff in there. I sent the whole deal off to Zardon to chew on. Here's one thing that kinda (no it did) piss me off.... after installing the apps, I was bombarded with AOL shit from here to kingdom come.

I think they are only updating the older ones, and that can't make it smaller.

I just switched from normal audigy1 drivers to Audigy2 ZS Drivers and turned on CMSS2.

I CANT BELIEVE IT, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

SOUND IS 10 TIMES BETTER!

No, not CMSS2. Stereo sound x2 is what got me back to these drivers. I thought Creative had done away with that great feature, and once I upgraded, my experience with my Audigy 2 just got a whole lot better.

madrappers: I helped my friend just today updating the drivers to the 402 and he had the original SB Live drivers and it had no problem with them. It looks like it went fine for him. On the other hand my update I had the 383 drivers and had no problem too.

Just wondering, is there any place hosting the application files yet. I heard that some still won't work on the SB Live series and that people are having troubles with their Audigy ones too but I'm hoping somebody has had some luck and that there is a place to get them. So far the only things I've seen listed is off of Edonkey and suff like that but those types of programs won't work fo me where I'm at right now even though I have a fast connection. It seems like Creative is slowly getting better with their drivers and things like that, I'm just glad its written for the most part as unified drivers and it can help a great card like the SB Live. The Audigy 2 383s help my card out and I think these 402s are even better, hope the rest of you are seeing a improvement also.
