Your opinions on monster cables

I am going to be buying an optical cable for a new piece of hardware that I'll be getting that supports optical i/o. I want to get monster cables, but they're a bit pricy. To be honest, I don't think there should be a difference. This is because optical is all digital, so there shouldn't be a problem, right? Its not analog in which you can get all sorts of noise etc.

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG SO THAT I DON'T BUY A CRAP AUDIO CABLE

If any of you have used monster cables in the past, please tell me if they actually made a difference over standard optical cables.

But in optical or digital cables de difference between different cables is almost ZERO!
Just don't buy one of those realy thin ones with no shielding and you'll be fine!

But if you have a great Hi-End system in your room, then maybe... maybe you can hear the difference!

And with hi-end stuff i mean stuff like martin logan speakers, krell audio systems or mark levinson
