My guess would be your PCI clock's too high
Check the PCI clock ratio in you BIOS...

*anyone with the same suggestion?*

100% OK - CT4780 on Win98SE with NEW driver CD - correction, some of the DirectX Music test options have audio glitches, but NOT the ones you'd normally use

go to your bios and find something called the "pci divider" or pci ratio or something similar. try raising it to a higher value. if you don't find it in the bios, look in the motherboard manual. it might be handled through jumpers on the motherboard or there might not be any control at all

good someone's not sleeping and being able to reply to ppl

There should be an option in the BIOS, these settings are dependable for making O/C's happy

Anyway, I'm still pissed off waiting for my Audigy! ...had to put my old Live into function, rather disappointing...

Default Post Hmmm...

I've had some issues with the rear channel being too silent w/the newest release of drivers (Compaq)... Fading is centralized, set to 4 sp. output, with or without DOO (digital output only) - same thing...
AC3 test fine, but 'regular' playback's greedy for front channel...

I've got the original SB Live! and the 5.1 Player version. I must admit they are the most trouble-free items in my systems so far - though I would admit making them work under Linux is another story. Ah well.
