I unhooked all my audio connections from my soundcard and then used some compressed air and blew it inside all my input/output connections. A big whoosh of dust blew out of all of them. I replugged my audio equipment and WOW
. Music sounds much more "liquid". If you have a dirty/dusty computer, I recommend you do the same as me. I know you might not realize it, but a lot of dust gets inside those connections (at least in my case).

Something to add to this is cleaning you connection contacts. I've been amazed with the difference in sound quality after cleaning. Rubbing alcohol, and a nice cloth should do the trick.

I agree, alittle cleaning once in awhile is much needed. And most of the times it does wonders like you said
