Audio stuttering Problem on Recording.

Im using an m-audio audiofile sound card and when I try to record with cubase 5.1
im getting audio glitches I have cut the system down and have no resident programs running
I have tried increasing the latency( buffers ...) I am used to building Audio pc's but I cant seem to get rid of this problem. I have tried changing my graphics card to a slower model but that hasnt helped.

It's only happening on recording audio in to the pc.
My hard drive is a fujitsu 15,000 rpm Scsi drive, but I also have a normal UDMA drive.

my system board is a MSI neo2 and processor 2.4gig P4 . At the momemt I have my operating system on the same drive as im using for recording but on another partition. Any idea's what I can do to get rid of this problem?

Hmm..have you tried adjusting any of the PCI latency timings in your bios? Also, are you sure you don't have a grounding probleming? If they are clicks & pops it might be, but it also could be something weird conflict with your scsi controller.

DallasStar is on a distinguished road

It could be a latency problem, but it could also be caused by EMI from other computer parts (i doubt this though).

Okay, this may sound weird, but it doesn't hurt to try it:

look at all of the audio wires that you are using for recording on your pc. then, look to see if there are any other wires around it. then, adjust the other wires so that they are positioned perpendicularly to your audio wires....
