Good 2.1 Speakers?

I was looking to buy some nicer speakers for my system. Currently, my sound card is just the onboard NForce2 Audio. I was considering the Klipsch 2.1 speakers. but was wondering if anyone else has any input on the subject. The only thing I am worried about is the crappy analog-out of the onboard audio. Would it be better to buy speakers with a digital-in, or maybe just get an external decoder?

IMHO, the simplest solution would be do get speakers with digital in, since NF2 boards have very good digital output and bad DACs. I am not sure about external decoders since I haven't ever seen or used any.

Why don't you get a pair of the Logitech 4.1's for about the same price? I've used the nforce2 audio with my Klipsch's and it sounded just fine.

That's what I'm doing now.

Are the Logitech's any better quality-wise? I don't really care about quantity, quality is where it's at.

The analog out seems ok, though now I wish I had something to compare it with.

I would have to say that the EV SonicXS 2.1 speaker's have to be about the best on the market. It is the closest I have seen to pro sound for a computer and are excellent for monitor's in music production home studios. Here is a link for a review on them.

Honestly the quality on them from what I've heard from word of mouth is just fine. Best Buy still carries them I believe so you maybe you coud swing by there to check them out.

I have the Altec Lansing Ultimate 621 and they are sweet.....Klipsh are always nice too

Yeah, most definitely happy with the Klipsch's. I've heard good things about Logitech and Altec Lansing though, so their products will definitely be under future consideration.
