Same Problem sort of

Well I also have the problems of the rear speakers not working. I get both front and rear sounds coming through the front speakers and nothing from the back. I'm usind the hacked audigy 2 zs drivers on an audigy 1. I used to have this problem using the regular audigy drivers, but I forgot how I fixed it. I have tried enabling CMSS in the EAX console and re-installing. I tried setting the speaker settings to quadraphonic and surround sound, with no success. Can anyone help us out?

So, speaker test doesn't bring anything?

I had this problem once - I fixed it by adjusting Rear-Front balance on my speakers.

I only get sounds coming from the front speakers. NO sound from the rear speakers during games or movies. When I run the speaker tests, both front and rear sounds comes from the front speakers.

Could this be a driver bug?

I am not sure what to do, because this whole issue is really weird...

I have gotten this issue at one point or another with all the creative cards from SB Live and up. This is my last Creative card, I'm sick of paying for a 4.1 speaker system and only able to use 2 of the speakers.

Do you guys have the synchronize with control panel box checked? It seems this a "bug" indeed, since speakers work when you test them and the rear channels disappear when you reboot. If you unhook them, and hook them back in it seems to fix it "sometimes".

dls....i guess i was luckier than u considering the fact that i have rear sounds in games, movies n music...however i do get the same bug as you 'sometimes' when my front produces the front sound n also the rear sounds...very very weird...my last audigy de se was oke so no complains...i haven't tried installing it with just drivers n no frills yet y don't u test it out?

necro..i tried it with the synchronize checked n also unchecked!!no difference!!!yeah...at times my rear will suddenly 'work' then it will die after that...weird...

I have the same problem but only in DolbyDigital content, games and music are OK.Tried software decoders and hardware decoder of my Audigy2 - nothing.Spoke with Creatives support - they told me that it's because i have audigy2 OEM, not retail.I think thats bullshit.

Just a short update. Now after an attempt at a clean install of the drivers, now I get front and rear sounds coming from the rear speakers and not the front speakers. An exact oppositve of what was happening before. This creative audigy thing is driving me mad. Anyone know the best way to clean out the old creative drivers and install the new ones?

uninstall the drivers, delete all creative folders and run registry cleaner http://www.glocksoft.com/aatools_registry_cleaner.htm
