Try DriverCleaner to remove leftover junk for Creative before attempting to re-install the drivers. You can also try to point directly to the driver files when intsalling the card instead of letting it attempt to self-install. Sometimes the card doesn't like the PCI slot that you picked for it to use, maybe try a different PCI slot.
At least that's some stuff to try anyway. Hope that helps. |

after running driver cleaner in safe mode, did you reboot back into normal mode and run ADD HARDWARE wizard?
Ive removed my audigy 1 drivers and used the driver cleaner (2.5) and had no problems installing the Audigy 2 ZS drivers... so make sure you explore all possibilities before formatting

if you want to install the audigy 2 suite of softwares you must apply the ctomp patch
extract the audigy 2 files using winrar, copy this file (http://members.aol.com/dvdking2001/Pub/ctcomp.exe) into the directory run it, and then after its done, run setup and it should install... |

well.. i actually did reinstall.. and the probelm didnt go away at all
![]() i fixed it though.. checked the bios.. and the mobo was set to AUTO for“on board sound... i made sure it was disabled.. booted into windowser delted all the sound cards in there and clicked f5 new device found.. strangely enough.. the audigy 2 drivers WOULD install. BUT.. wheni ran diag on them, nothing worked apart from D3d and card detection. AND not even when i used the ctcomp file would it let me upgrade the drivers. not evne the audigy one creative drivers (compaq pack). would let me find the audigy card!.. i had to manually install the driver. with "have disk" setting. then reboot and install the initial drivers to get everything working. . and then install all the apps.. ok those apps suck.. but at least they HALF work. (the SB experince demo does NOT work however... WHY!? it goes to load stuff and then just sits there and does nothing. i think ill just go out buy a patinum ZS- pr evem netter a fortisumo 3

You can install the drivers by going to the audio/drivers/ directory on your install cd and running the EXE there. Doesn't work in Safe Mode though. I'm having trouble with mine in the fact that any Creative application that uses BMP skins won't load anymore
