max payne 2 vs fortissimo III.

in the max payne 2 thread, alot of people seem to be having problems with the fortissimo sound cards.

i, am also having problems with my audio. the multi-channel audio dosent work right all the time, and its really choppy during battles.

Does it still do it even with the latest patch? Hmm...you might want to play with your acceleration to see if that has any effect on it. However, I don't think your the only person to be experiencing this problem..and I mean other brands as well.

I had problems -but patch helped a little bit- I explain it in above link to post/thread I have Fortissimo III 7.1 -

5.1 is useless in MP2 w/ this card- headphones are OK now, but before patch sound was horrible- popping cracking, missing sound, stuttering game-
sound levels WAY too loud in cut scenes and other places- some sounds couldn't hear at all (footsteps etc...)

Something that has NEVER happened with my card in ANY game yet-- Fort III usually has excellent sound. With little affect on performance of games...

Haven't noticed any problems running MP2 with my Fortissimo III yet. Than again, I'm not using multi-channel analog either. I'm running mine with my JVC mini-disc system via the optical out.

I haven't tried that yet- my optical cable is too short and my home stereo is too far away-- I bet it sounds nice though.
