Winamp 5 Beta 2

Winamp 3 was a failure in terms of what it hoped to achieve, many users reverted back to Winamp 2 as it was faster and more recent versions included some of the features that 3.0 introduced. Winamp 5 (working title) hopes to merge the best features of the two, as this is an alpha this vision is not yet obvious but I am sure you guys will want to try it out anyway! One of the spotted difference with Winamp 2.91 is that this version already has support for freeform skins (winamp 3 skins). However not every button from a freeform skin will work.

I've been with winamp 5 betas and they are much better than winamp3.

this is def. the best of both worlds .. and i love the new 'modern' skin. great find.

Unfortunately, no Unicode support, and many interesting thigs foobar2000 has - I will stick to it

But I must admit that new modern skin looks great.

i hated 3!
for the past 4 years ive been using 2 and was really happy....

ive read alotta reviews about 5 and was impressed, so i installed it and its been good to me

the loadup time is pretty good, not as good as 2 but better then 3
