Audio dubbing question.

I don't usually mess around with stuff like this, but what I want to do is take an existing mp3 file and rerecord it so the sound file is either silent or very low volume.

I also want to keep the file size the same.

What I need is a good free (easy too use) program to do this with. I have a Fortissimo III that came with some software, but I'm not sure what it is- it's on a CD somewhere around here- I think it's called Acid express or something like that...

Anyway- the reason I want to do this is because of the damn annoying music in the game Call of Duty that they made so you could NOT turn off or down.. On my setup it is very loud.

It is all located in the file pak2.pk3/music in the /Main file in COD. I got to those files by unzipping the file with winrar- This is only for single player as I'm pretty sure doing this in MP would be cheating..

Does anybody have any suggestions how to do this?

Thanks..

mau108 is on a distinguished road

Cooledit(Adobe Audition), Soundforge or Goldwave
will adjust volumes according to your settings...
some will even get rid of clipping and allow for equalizer to adjust the highs, mids and lows

search google.com youll get few applications

Audio Editing tools...
