z-640s crapping out

i have a set of logitech z-640s (i just HAD to buy the crap mid-range system) they have caused me nothing but trouble for the past 3 weeks.

first they started crackleing during games, mp3s, wav ect..

one day they just stopped crackleing, so i kept them, and have been using them for about 2 weeks.

today i load up my winamp (like i do every day when i get home from work) and start listining to music, they start crackling again! and then they stop, however the sub stopped too, now the music isnt even loud, and it sounds like balls (but at least its better than my roomates crappy trendy music) has anyone else had this problem? or similar problem?

i checked the cables, everything. i'm all out of ideas.
