lol, whats the deal with this DFX thing?

My friend found this DFX plugin for winamp and he says its been greatly incrasing his sound quality, so I tried it out, and it made my sound sound like crap. He doesnt own a EQ, so I tried turning off my EQ and it made the EQ less sound sound alot better, but the EQ sounded better than the DFX enhanced non EQ sound.

What confuses me, it that you need to buy DFX, and it costs more than my EQs (10 band dual channel, and 7 band dual channel) both did put together. (Though I bought them used)

why would someone want DFX? Its controls arnt as good, it uses CPU resources, it doesnt sound as good.

actually I totally disagree with you on this DFX sounds great. uses CPU resources? of course it does, everything uses CPU resources unless the PC is turned off ! incidentally you cant alter the settings until you pay for it, and the defaults are pretty lame but its great for pc speakers. certainly sounds good on mine anyway

I could adjust the sliders, I was referring to the fact that they adjust too much at once, you cant control it as well.

BTW, do you have EQs to test it againts? (decent hardware ones)
