Output methods and mp3 decoders compared
This is the latest article I've written:

Can't view it - what ActiveX or script is it dependent on - I run pretty high blocking!
I think I'll start a campaign for real HTML It might not be as tasty as real ale! |

There's only javascript for the menu and scoller.
http://www.forgotten-realms.cfl.pl/o...s_mp3decs.html here is a pure HTML version (images won't display though, and no styles) |

Real HTML? My site validates for HTML 4.01 strict.
I'd post a direct link to the validator but the damn forum script keeps messing it up. Last edited by evil_one; Dec 28, 2003 at 08:47 PM. |

Bizarre! - I turned my Outpost firewall active content blocking completely off, forced refresh, and STILL no go on the original.
Reports a script error. If I view source, I can see the text, but I've tried a select-swipe and there's nothing on screen. IE5.5sp2 on Win98SE - I wonder if it's an Outpost firewall bug... |

I've tested the site under IE5.0 when I was making sure that it's CSS box model bug doesn't mess up the layout, so I don't see a reason why it shouldn't work under 5.5.
Does the menu show up or completely nothing? |

Tested again under IE5, IE6, Opera7 and Mozilla with strict Javascript warnings enabled, nothing. Must be something with your config.

Menu shows up, and menu sections open up, nothing else shows - yet the text is there on a view source.
I've released all the blocking, ad's, scripts, popups etc. - only thing I can think of is that either the forced refesh didn't cut deep enough, or the firewall has a bug in the blocker. Only other clue, a script error at line 288 - of what, I'm not sure? Bizarre! - I just fed the link into OffByOne (a really 0-capability browser limited to HTML 3.2) - and it displayed. Looks like the firewall blocker is throwin a bug, or an adverse reaction to what it does - though I didn't see any of the usual signs of the way it disrupts things. I'm on the firewall betatest, so I'll throw the link at the othe testers and see if they can figure it. |

The javascript scroller isn't launching. I don't know why though.
There isn't 288 lines in the .js file. If counting with the html document from which it is included, the stuff at line 288 (or near) can't really cause the problem. Try to download this and open from the HDD: http://www.forgotten-realms.cfl.pl/o...city/xxxxx.rar |

Blast! It was 228 and not 288 - the dowload is no different.
And a look in the files doesn't show anything relevant at that position - even grabbing a view source Two other Outpost betatesters reported no problem, so I guess my browser is broken! IE5.5SP2 on Win98SE |
