When you see two speakers do you mean a 2.1 setup or just two speakers?

It's been along time since I've messed with the onboard sound with this motherboard. So I can't exactly remember what you have to check in the Sound Storm control panel. BTW, how long have you had this setup & have you always had this problem?

P.S. Which drivers are you using?

Ah alright now I know what is wrong. Did you use the Asus drivers? Reason I ask is in the past you had to use Asus's drivers because they were specially modified because their Sound Storm setup is different then most nforce2 boards. Go here and download the nforce2 drivers.

It should be installed when you install the nforce drivers.

I have a few questions..I think the problem is hard to pin-point because there might be some mincommunication here.

1. Have you installed the latest version of DirectX
2. Do you "never" get any rear sound, music & games?
3. What media player are you using for music?
4. Where did you get this board from? I see it's one of the earlier revs. if you bought it off someone did you ask them about the rear sound problem?
5. Did you check in the bios and make sure all the onboard sound options are enabled?
6. Have you tried the channel swap utility from Asus?
