Audigy 2 ZS apps DLL issues
I installed my Audigy 2 ZS after a fresh install of XP pro (after updates) and everything was fine
after installing the rest of my software when trying to run the surround mixer and speaker setup apps i get an error message that it cant find "ctintrfc.dll" and wont run, this file is in the creative folder which i copied to system folder, then i get same error for "cthtml.dll" copy that one to system folder and try to run app again, no errors, but app doesnt run at all either what can i do? i've reinstalled windows twice because of this, and the exact same thing happens, uninstalling/reinstalling does nothing i even stuck my old audigy in and installed it to see if maybe the audigy 2 zs picked up any files or whatever i have no idea what to do... i'm about to say screw it and get the M-Audio Revolution (although i really like the front bay of the creative cards) i just dont feel like spending another $100 to replace a brand new $160 card... its crazy.. why cant Creative ever learn to give us support if anyone knows of a fix please let me know... i'm desperate i use comp for mainly music, not really gaming or movies thanks |

Can I recommend something I usually recommend?
![]() http://www.kxproject.com/ Try installing the driver from there, and see if you like it before you spend more money.

Dont use the cd just goto the creative site and download the apps seperately and try to install them like that. Also....when installing the creative cards I always use the second pci slot down from the agp slot ....they request an irq and thats the slot most likely to work.

Okay this is a major shot in the dark...when you reload windows do you have the ZS installed?
If so what I'm thinking is true Windows could be installing drivers for it secretly hence causing the conflict your receiving. |

after installing windows (updated to sp1, etc) i installed the audigy... worked fine.. no trouble.... then once i finished installing everything else (photoshop, office, etc) the 2 main setting apps dont work.. but did before the other software... and no matter how much i reinstall audigy, doesnt work.. and i not in the mood to redo windows for a 3rd time

Can't you just list apps you installed after Audigy? Just check what you have installed.
I personally never heard of such a thing, and it probably isn't hardware related, just some software conflict. |

well i have lots of apps... mainly all the major graphic stuff... but being creative files i dont see how other apps would touch them... i may try uninstalling some apps and see if that does anything.. but i doubt it

I just wondered since you said you mainly use your card for music if you didn't have some audio program conflicting with the Creative drivers.

Here's how I fixed this problem on my PC:
I did a search of my entire hard drive for CTIntrfc.dll and found it in the folder C:\Program Files\Creative\Shared Files As the apps were telling me they couldn't find it I tried adding it to the Path Environment Variable. To do this in Windows XP: Go to the System Properties requestor (right-click on "My Computer" icon on desktop and select Properties, or open Control Panel and double-click on System icon) Click the "Advanced" tab. Click the "Environment Variables" button at the bottom of the requester. In the "System variables" list, scroll down and select the "Path" variable. Click the "Edit" button. Press the "End" button on your keyboard to move the insertion cursor to the end of the Path string. Enter the following: ;C:\Program Files\Creative\Shared Files Note the semicolon in front - very important! Click the "OK" button to save your change, then click "OK" on the "Environment Variables" requestor to apply it. Click "OK" to close the "System Properties" requestor. Life should now be good :-) |
