Audigy 2 or Inspire 6700 problem

Right then... I have been trying to sort this for ages... Creative helpline people are useless... they real off the exact same thing every single time I talk to them.

I keep getting these crackles, they are such a frequency that they feel very strange. Then, every now and again the subwoofer will do a large POP and push a large cushion of air at me.

Any ideas?

cheers

Hmmm...could be noise in your patch cords. You might want to try to clean your connections with alcohol too.

Do you ever use headphones? If so you do you ever experience any of these weird crackles? It could be a PCI latency problem too. How long have your speakers been doing this?

I don't use headphones... I'll have to try that soon.

I've tried playing around with the PCI latency - no good

Speakers have been doing this for a few months now... sometimes they are ok... but sometimes they do this... so i't not a constant thing

RIV@NVX will become famous soon enough

Only idea that comes to my mind is that it could be Audigy2-related.
Can you post full specs (MoBo, what parts are integrated on it, and what PCI cards do you have)? It could help.

I have disabled onboard sound if that is what you are thinking... but here they are:

Abit NF7-S Rev2
2x256MB PC3200 Crucial
Sapphire 9700np
56k Modem
2800 barton
DVD-ROM
CD-RW
Audigy 2 (of course)

... only have 2 pci cards... modem + audigy 2
