Prodigy 7.1 driver 1.991 / DirectWIRE 3 release
DirectWire 3.0 Press Release
Written on Feb 4th 2004 by ESI, Ego Systems Inc. is proud to publicly introduce its innovative DirectWIRE 3.0 technology, together with the release of version 1.99 of AUDIOTRAK's Prodigy 7.1 driver. DirectWIRE is ESI's amazing software that allows you to virtually patch all of your digital audio internally between various software programs. In this latest version, support for patching hardware inputs and mixing multiple audio streams at the inputs has been added. When utilizing DirectWIRE 3.0, you are able to work with hardware inputs and the driver's internal software interfaces simultaneously, which was impossible thus far. Using version 3.0 you can, for example, apply reverb on the microphone input using NSP (another feature of the Prodigy), mix the resulting stream with output from Winamp, and stream the result live on the Internet using SHOUTcast technology! All this is done on a single sound card, and the only physical wire is needed to connect the microphone to the card. Another unique possibility is to record 6 channel sound source from a DVD (or any other, even copy protected media) player application in the recording application of your choice. And because the process is done in the digital domain, there is no loss in quality! The new Prodigy 7.1 driver can be downloaded here: http://jetbaram.cafe24.com/pds/Prodi...991-s3511d.zip DirectWIRE 3.0 support for other ESI/AUDIOTRAK products will follow soon. ------ New features: -DirectWIRE 3.0 -Monitoring of digital and analog inputs through digital output -Better integration with the Windows Default Mixer Plus a bunch of fixed bugs. The new INPUT section in DirectWIRE represents the card's hardware inputs. INPUT 1,2 are analog inputs (it depends on which analog input is selected as a recording source in the Console). INPUT 3,4 are digital inputs. Now you can route multiple wires into a single IN. |

Is there any chance this directwire driver could be hacked and used with the M-audio Revolution 7.1?
I believe they are nearly identical cards. |

They use the same Envy24HT chip, that's all.
The most important difference is that they use different crystal values for the reference clock source. |
