I'm shocked!
![]() ...I was having some trouble with WinXP, so I decided to give it a clean install... Everything went smooth, until I had to install the Audigy... Didn't want to install the official (CD) drivers, so I went straight to the Compaq release... BAAM, says 'could not detect Audigy...bla bla bla'; oK, so I checked to see if CToem was deleted, was... Hmmm; started the original setup from Creative - same thing; reports that Audigy's not present... I've tried installing drivers first and later running the setup and the same thing happened... oK, was trying to be smart and changed every PCI slot, put out every other HW installed and it didn't help, not even when I installed a fresh copy of XP 'without' Audigy present... So I went to my friends place and we tried to make it run there - NO LUCK! Guess the card's fried ![]() btw. it also reports that the 1394 Net adapter cannot start, so I guess there's no help to it... Any comments, suggestions, sollutions? HEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!

I think Necrosis is probably right. Your problem sounds like what he described, but there is a slight chance that you are experiencing a problem that I have experienced before (slight).
I had a problem similar to this a long time ago (and haven't encountered it again). I got a whole bunch of BSODs after every driver install of Creative. I reformatted my harddrive 4 times and every single time, the Audigy just wouldn't install, and then, after one last miracle reformat, it worked : ...... I have since reformatted 2 more times and have yet to experience that problem again . Thank God ..... Those experiences scared the crap out of me sometimes and had me cursing at Creative for doing this to me .Well, now it works and has the latest drivers and I'm happy . It'd be nice to finally figure out what causes that though.edit: I should make it clear that prior to those final two reformats, I was using the Audigy CD that shipped with the card and then upgrading to the Compaq release "trimmed" version. In the last two reformats, I used the FULL 377mb CD burned and everything. (yes, I actually left the download running two days straight on my 56k to get the whole damned thing ) This may be why it worked (i guess).

Excuse my ignorance, RMA? (letter by letter )Please mind my 'location', eventhough I lived in Canada I'm still a bit rusty, eh - nevermind ![]() To dallasstar: I don't see what formating could have an affect on my Audigy actually coming to life <?> |_________| ...used to work in Technical Support (Technician, off-profession), but I never encounted such a stupid thing (meaning Audigy, OC).. Almost broke my keyboard in half last night trying to make it WORK!
