I've got the Z-680s, they are just amazing speakers. I could hear them in the lobby of my dorm at UofM from the 4th floor
![]() And when I turn them down, they STILL sound great! I'm completely satisfied. DREAM system? Well, the best speakers I ever heard: My Dad and I were in Las Vegas for CES (Consumer Electronics Show), and at the same time they have this high-end audio convention at this hotel, so we decide to check it out. Firstly, these people are crazy. They have likee 3" stands so that their speaker wire doesn't touch the ground. They spend more than I would on a CAR on a turntable. Anyways, the BEST that I heard was a demo from Sony themselves. They were showing off their new SACD (Super Audio CD) technology, which, BTW, is WAY WAY WAY better than DVD-Audio. Anyways, we went in this room, and there were 5 speakers set up. They were 4' floor speakers. The rep told us that they were pushing, get this, 8,000 Watts per channel. YES THAT'S RIGHT eight thousand Watts per channel, 40,000W in that room... and this power was not for volume, it was pure fidelity. When they put on a jazz piece with a sax solo, I swear if I closed my eyes and Kenny G was standing in that very room I would not have been able to tell the difference... So THAT is my dream system :-p |

It's been a while since I posted, but now I'm here to put up a small praise to the Gigaworks...
...just when you think you don't have enough money to get these babies, hold on to your pockets for just one more month to be able to afford them! Believe me, the sound is amazing! I didn't actually go out to test them out before I got them, but somehow I had a good feeling, and so the feeling was right. From the supplied wires, down to the painless speaker setup, I sat down, powered them up and nearly got a heartattack! The bass is by default of 50% (from what you can tell by looking at the control center thingy), which is MORE than just enough, it's definitely TOO much! k, so I powered it down a bit, tweaked around to get the side and rear speaker volume right (in consistence with the center channel), played with the equilizer in kx drivers, pushed the volume up to 'round 75% max power and it got dizzy in my head after 'bout 5 minutes... ...with absolutely NO distortion in the sound of what so ever! Amazing!

I originally planned on hooking up my SB Live to a couple of Proson HFC10 speakers, powered by a Harman Kardon HK670. The Prosons focus on power rather than sound quality, and I don't have enogh space for them right now, so therefore i have hooked up a pair of old B&O Beovox S45-2's instead.
