Default Post Driver Installation issue with Audigy

Hey everyone,

David is having the same problems as listed in this thread at VIA arena...

http://forums.viaarena.com/messagevi...&threadid=6354

Basically he can only install the WDM drivers for his card, nothing else. When he tries installing the rest of the drivers it says it cannot find the card. He has tried different driver sets with the same result. If anyone has some linkage or a way he can fix this. I know he would greatly appreciate it. I'm stumped.

Hmmm, did a check on the thread, seems to me there's the same problem as mine was...
Sure the WDM drivers install correctly but they don't work cuz the card's probably fried; there's an '!' beside the 1394 Net Adapter and the drivers are installed as '........(WDM)', (instead of, if I recall correctly, 'Audigy Audio Device') which is def. wrong! ...CreativeWare cannot detect the Audigy...
...@ first I could still get some 2ch sound from the card, and none the next day
I've tried changing every PCI slot without any success...

Finally, I returned the card and am now waiting for a new one; and I explicitly asked for the one with that missing cap/resistor!

hope I stayed on-topic...

I once had this problem, but after 5 reinstalls of windows xp and excessive cursing, it was fixed (and I've never seen it happen since.... thank God!)

Don't want to sound too pesimistic, but it didn't help even after 'bout 8 reinstalls

I think my SCSI Controller layed a gravestone for my Audigy, it's been giving me some trouble generally...

Lemme know when he reached 9
If it works then I'll ask for my old Audigy and get on formatting!
