Winamp3 Final Build 488

Wow, it has finally made it and has now, judging by the filename, left the beta stages.

Winamp3 sees a major update over the previous 2.xx version and now gives users the ability to play videos and manage their collections more easily using advanced playlists...

I don't want to talk anymore, I want to install and play some loud music...

Download Winamp3 Final Build 488

Funny isn't it? The only guy to not like this player posts news about it.

Go figure...

Honestly, I don't like Winamp 3 at this stage. The only new thing is the skinning interface and video playback (which could have beend done on winamp 2 with a plugin). This version of Winamp is significantly slower (it shows that AOL has bought nulsoft ). Not only that, it doesn't have my favorite midi plugin with the awesome tweakability!!!!! (that's the part that pissed me off the most ). I'll use this player once they get that midi plugin back!

Yeah, it is slower, noticed it also take a while to load
...and whilst I miss all the 'settings' from 2.xx I must say that W3 never hung on me...
I think it also utilizes DirectSound better than the 2.xx...

It's been pretty well documented through out the forum why I do not like Winamp.

Remember kids, there are no stupid questions, only stupid people Nah, please don't take it personally, it just came through...

Anyway, you can find lots of info on WinAMP 3 here: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?postid=406475

For the mem usage: yeah, it leeches 'round 20megs from my system, and IEXPLORE.exe takes 'round 25megs; that sort of posts WinAMP3 as a favorite of mine |anything less than the IE is goood|
