Default Post Hercules Fortissimo III 7.1 Digital card, w/ Optical output, and hardware Dolby Digital™ EX

http://europe.hercules.com/showpage.php?p=56&b=0&f=1

Has 2,2.1,4.1,5.1,7.1 capabilities !!

360° over-realistic positional audio

Dolby Digital™ EX hardware support

7.1 CHANNEL SOFTWARE DVD PLAYER

All for under $50

Looks very promising. My current Fortissimo II, is the best sound card Ive had to date, and Ive gone thro SB Live's and SB Audigy aswell. Fort II produces some of the most crystal clear audio output, and its cpu usage is even lower than that of the Audigy or SB Live. Only gripe I have is its limited to 4.1 out, but has a dedicated amp jack for headphones. Lookes like 5.1 support now is just round the corner

The Fortissimo II already has 5.1 support Hercules released a "Digital Edition" that I've seen in CompUSA. The only caveat: your 5.1 speakers have to have a digital connection to the sound card.

I haven't been able to find anything about it except in the Hercule's forums. However, the Game Theater is designed to handle 8 outputs. If I find some info. I will post it here.

I was under the impression that Hercules designed the GTXP that way on purpose so that little to no hardware changes would be needed for future revisions, only software/driver ones. I recently ordered the GTXP 6.1 as my Philips is toast and I'm tired of the built in sound of the K7S5A. Looking forward to receiving it.
