I'd buy it- with it being such a novelty, you could sell it used on e-bay for almost full price after you get done w/ it I bet.

Sound Storm has never done me wrong. Very low CPU usage. Pretty good quality sound. I do not need 10 software programs running to use it, just the NVMixer (and that is optional). And it came free on my motherboard.

Yeah I wish they would too-- maybe something like a Herc Fort III 7.1 but just with even higher sound quality and of course updated DSP's.

Oh, this is a good review of the Fort III (page where he compares the music quality)

32 bit reolustion output? useless, 24 bit is a higher dynamic range than our ears can actually hear

Indeed truly useless unless your planning on doing some Super DVD multi channel setup for recording, which about 50 people on the planet could actually listen to.

it's not the range... it's the abilities you can do.... also more quality done the pipe... as the signals are tranfered and processed.. they degrade... with 32 bit... there would be degredation that would result in better output yet then 24 bit...THAT would be noticeable...

BTW... 96khz is pretty damn sweet.... I can seriously hear a major difference between it and 44/48khz... (me loves my sister yamaha amplifier and excellent speakers)

Digital signals degrade? What are you talking about? Of course being able to sample a "live" source at the highest bitrate is the ideal means. Have you ever heard any of the new audio formats? Yes, can hear a difference in 16 - 24 bit. If you think 96KHz is something try 192KHz.

Trying using a Delta 1010 for a week and tell me how bad 24 bit really is. I don't know of any 32 bit hard disk recorders...there is reason why.

file size of true 32 bit recordings would be large… very large especially at 192khz

I think I've always had Creative cards, at least for as long as I can remember. SB16, AWE32, Audigy1 and now an Audigy2 with Audigy2 ZS drivers and apps.

I love it.

None of the cards have given me any problems so far so I can recommend them.
