Guide: How to install SoundBlaster Audigy 2ZS drivers on Live!/Audigy/Audigy 2

well atleast one of the issues is resolved. My system wont reboot after tinkering with eax console and eax control panel at the sametime anymore but still no 3dsound in most games and only eax 3.0 in call of duty, is anyone else having the same issues with an audigy 1? I might have to revert back to original drivers to enable rear speakers in games

hey guys, i habe an audigy 1 and after the update looks like everything works ok.

i never used de eax effects..... i want to test it but cant figure where to select it.....

i looked into the EAX Console but cant found it....

can someone tellme how i need to do it, thanks?

i definitely patched audio/setup and stillnothing...i tried doing it manully too...the thing idont understand though is that after patching the dat file that gets patched only has like 3 entries in it for IDs... which to me seems like it didnt do ANYTHING good.

so u extracted it and changed it and then u updated the data1.cab file with the new ctcomp.dat right¿?

and nothing happened? what card do u have again?

yes i applied the patch and i put it back into the cab (i re-extracted to make sure)...

I have an Audigy 2... its usually labeled as the "Value"...its an OEM card with model number SB0400

I remember that starting from a certain audigy driver (perhaps the first with eax4? so the 4xx series?), on my sblive value, when I set an eq setting, it will go silent until I select the parametric equalizer and set it to normal, even though it's already on normal. After that, it would work, but it's really annoying. So I'm wondering if there's a way around this or what the last good version was? I'm thinking 383 maybe?

your audigy 2 value is not a true audigy card (no 10k2) chip
i doubt the ZS software will work for you

i have everything working except the neo6 update, seems that everytime i try to put the dts neo6 update in than the eq dosent work. can you explain to me what im doing wrong. i have a audigy 2 platinum card.

I FINALLY got the darn thing to install over my Audigy 2 Value... all i needed was the right hardware id...for those of you wondering...

SB Audigy 2 Value - SB0400 - ID : 08100001

However...i'm still having problems. I can't get the EAX console or the Equalizer up..and my "YourCPL" says "error yourcpl" in the control panel. The YourCPL still RUNS, its just displays wrong, but the regular Creative equalizer stuff won't start because it says it can't find the hardware to support it. I followed the instructions...so what am i missing?

I think you'd better install Audigy2 value software. Audigy2 ZS software is not able to fully work with this value card.

Hey I really wanna try this out with my regular Audigy 2, but the first 4 download links are down and the iso download keeps stopping at like 94-99 percent. I have the disc that came with my regular Audigy 2. You think that would work or do I have to keep searching for links?

Nice guide, but can I use Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro drivers in to my Audigy 2 Platinum EX card. Actualy they are almost same, the difference is that ZS is 7.1 and my Platinum EX is 6.1. I dont care much for the software advantages, but I have 7.1 speakers.

the hardware only supports 6.1, so unless you use a second card connected via s/pdif correctly, then you will still only have 6.1 sound

I also have an external AV reciever which i s 7.1 if I connect it trough s/pdif into the External drive of the card, what sound will I recieve? Some kind of virtual 7.1? Or 6.1

What will happend if I use ZS Platinum Pro drivers?

I have second sound card , actualy its onboard, but how exactly I must connect it , and how I make them to work together - one for 6.1 and the other one only for the missing channel?

you'll need a CD_SPDIF cable (often comes with SB cards)
aswell as the pinouts for the ZS's AD_EXT and the pinout for the motherboards onboard S/PDIF header (you need one that has an S/PDIF input pin) check the m/b manual to see if you have one and post back please

My motherboard is Asus P4C800 Deluxe. There is integratet SPDIF port, but there is also SPDIF Out pins(for additional SPDIF Module). You can see the manual if I`m wrong-

The pins are -

1 - +5V
2 - empty
3 - SPDIFOUT
4 - GND

Actually , I`m with Platinum EX so I dont have AUD_EXT. But I have 2 SPDIF in/outs - 1 optical and 1 normal.

Does the latest Creative Compatibility patch (ver 7.3.0.0) work with the latest Audigy 2 ZS driver addition:

Digital Rights Management 1.84.0055 for Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Audigy 2 ZS series audio devices (25 Nov 2004)
They say it combines all 3 previous Audigy 2 ZS Driver Updates..

The main sad point is that All Audigy 2 drivers do NOT allow to use Advanced EQ presets normally. When you click on them in SurMix you don't hear anything. Finally, you can hear, for instance Drum'n'Bass, but only when you move slider up or down. Even when you SAVE the settings, you hear (No Effects) instead Drum'n'Bass...

Does anybody have any solution/patch.

I use 444 drivers from A2 on my SB0220.
Drivers are OK. But Muxer sucks with them

I seeked mydrivers.com and they have several mirrors.

I was wondering if anyone has their onboard audio (AC97?) working in explicitive cohesion with an SBLive! or Audigy? I have an A7V8x-x with 'soundmax cadenza' onboard and a 5.1 sb in slot 3. I managed to get this

and have both the sbliveFF00 and smax devices showing up.

The sb is finally working as I hoped it would when I bought the !! thing last century. WOOT!

Can I continue to somehow use my cases front mic+phone jack (routed in/out onboard audio)? I looked at the pin-out images pinned in this forum but don't recognize the match to my case connectors (left,right,gnd,mic,ect) on that image, its all spdif things.
