too bad they were freezing my PC ![]() Quote:

How can I install the 2Zs drivers on my regular A2 ?
I've tried the drivers from that .iso hosted in china, windows can't find proper drivers and the CTCOMP crack won't work either. Quote:

I did it and it worked well (only EQ didn't cause I updated drivers to .1100). - uninstall old drivers and apps and reboot - extract (unrar) .iso file - run ctcomp and select path <path where .iso extracted>/audio/setup - install drivers or what ever you need - boot - update drivers one at the time (remember run ctcomp on all upgrades) and reboot IT'S VAIN EFFORTS TO SOFT MOD A2 INTO A2Zs INSTALL LATEST BETA DRIVES .1100 INSTEAD OF MODDING (THEY SOUND GOOD)jiitee |

thanks for answering
![]() so your Audigy2 is not recognized as a 2Zs in the windows device manager ? I've never installed the creative crapware and I don't plan to. i might try to reinstall XP, make a ghost image, and try all the builds of the hacked WDM A2Zs newyear drivers then. maybe just the latest is freezing my PC occasionally ?! in terms of sound quality, audigy 2 is far cleaner and the zs driver has an EQ which nforce users used to brag about. nforce has the optical connection i think? right on the card. ive heard clarity from an nforce and audigy 2, audigy 2 wins IMO |

I don't give a damn about nforce2, so I ain't quite sure why you're mentioning it
All I want is to use the "music mode" PAX-NewYear v1.2 drivers on my A2, without freezing that is. Quote:

ok I've tried to install Creative_PAX-NewYearv1.2.exe again.
Using chinese as the installation language, i managed to complete it, but after I restarted, the keyboard and mouse were frozen, I couldn't type my password to open the session ![]() how can I get the same sound quality as the "music drivers" from this package in a stable way ?

I guess there is no hope for me n my Audigy Ls..... Is the Audigy2 ZS really that good? would it be worth me upgrading form my Audigy LS to one? would i notice any significant increase in quality?? what woul dbe so different? im also using the Logitech X-530 Speakers (5.1) just in case ppl wanted to know. PS i dontk now where Newegg or whatever it is called is located but do they deliver to Australia? if they do i might just grab 1 from there they see to be reliable and relativly cheap. Any ideas or tips would be great. Oh n btw with which audigy 2 do you get that funky looking box? n what does it do lol i think i might fork out the extra cash just to make friends jealous hehehe

Heh, I'm having issues with it.
Apparently I can't install it with the setup, even with ctcomp. I have the sound blaster live! 24-bit(sorry I didn't bother looking around, TOO MANY PAGES!!!!) Is there a way to get around it? would that even mean it would work? Last edited by LazyAzN; Apr 14, 2005 at 08:02 PM. |

well i think the problem comes from the hacked drivers, even though we both run the same i865PE chipset. coz the latest WHQL drivers from creative work just fine, but they don't sound as good
obviously there's been some hardware changes from A2 to A2 ZS even though they use the same EMU chip. so it doesn't freeze all the time, and when i doesn't the sound quality kicks major ass. what do u call 3.69+ ? I'm totally lost with all those New Year drivers I've downloaded a 500 mb ISO from China but i didn't bother install all that crapware on my PC. I only need ASIO 2.0/WDM and EAX, that's it Is there a way to get the same sound quality as the "music mode" Creative_PAX-NewYearv1.2.exe on a regular A2 in a stable way ? Quote:

If I am not wrong, the New Year drivers are actually based on beta Audigy4 drivers which are modded to work on Audigy1/2 series. These drivers start from v1.0. However, those based on official Audigy1/2 drivers will be called the Youp PAX drivers, and they have came a long way.
http://www.hardwareheaven.com/audio-general-technical-discussion/66519-youp-pax-series-modded-drivers.html See the thread. I was referring to 3.69f. I'm using that now coz it's the latest one with a music edit. The latest 3.89 does not have a music edit, and it crashes my com when there's too many sound streams. As for the hanging problem, when I was say it might be a problem with the motherboard, I wasn't referring to the chipset, but the motherboard as a whole. Maybe the drivers is bad (bad from Creative and not from modding), but most people does not have the hanging problem. In fact, my 2nd computer running of the drivers does not have the problem too. So i guess it might be something about the moherboard which is maybe of unusual implementation, like maybe the PCI bus or some small problem somewhere which the drivers is incompatible with. |

So I guess there is no way to get Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit to work with these drivers huh? Otherwise I'm deleting the 600MB stuff...

actually my A2 was recognized as a A2 Zs in the device manager, that's why I think they use the A4 crapware, with the A2 Zs WDM drivers.
What about "PAX-NewYear v1.1" and "YouP-PAX 3.69g" ? did you try them ? I dont even see a link to the 3.89 ? ![]() I ain't sure whether the "YouP-PAX ZS v1.2 " are the same as the "New Year 1.2" but the drivers infos say : "Added supporting files for Audigy2 series hack to A2 ZS (but some A2 ZS functions are still missing). OK I've tried the 3.69f ultra music drivers, they stink
the sound output is overprocessed, the bass is like +6dB(so an explosion on a DVD is like WTF?), it seems a lame stereo widener is being used, and some very short reverb as well You can install YouP PAX 3.89 drivers for Audigy Audigy/Audigy2/Audigy2 ZS series sound cards with YouP-PAX 2005 NewYear. Does it freeze like the 1.0>1.2 newyear 2005 ? Do you have to install all the creative crapware ? thanks! Last edited by leeperry; Apr 16, 2005 at 03:17 PM. |

wow the 3.69g "optimized for pop music and dvd" drivers are pretty BAD ASS
I've opened ten WMP at the same time, no freezes so far

I'm running with the ZS 443 modded drivers on an Audigy1LS, are there any great benefits from tempering with the great working drivers? Will I get the neo:6 to work, cause right now it keeps giving me an error after the first restart after the installation. Interesting is it works fine before I restart but after it it can't detect an audigy 2 card so that's that.

ok i've tried the 3.99 they stink big time :P
the sound is hollow, and well just plain sucks. I wish I could try the 3.89 but I don't have 400mb free on C:\ and I don't want any of the creative crapware installed. so the 3.69g are the best in my book for a regular A2, great sound quality and stable as hell. |

For anybody that has a SBLive Value, I took all the work out of it and put together a set of these drivers that you can burn to a CD, and install. It also has the 2nd to newest patch included. These have been tested on a CT4780 and a CT4620 and work perfect. You will need a bittorrent client to get them. All I ask is if you like them, is to help seed when convienent.
Get them here. http://www.unknownserv.net/torrents/
