Kx setup for Vst synth playback in Cubase....No Sound

Hi
Here are a list of problems i am having, please can someone help me solve them.

1, I open the Native Instruments FM7 byt when trying to play this synth, there is now sound at all coming out of my speakers.

2, I am in Cubase SX, create a midi track and set it up to use any VST instrument, and again i play but there is no sound at all.

All i want to do is set up the card so i am able to record and hear anything i do in cubase.

thanks, hope someone will find the time to help me, i am also trying to find the info here, but no success at the moment just failier.
