VIA Envy 24bit any good?

Anyone have any experience with this soundchip? Specs look awesome but how does it compare to an Audigy 2? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Very...VERY good yet it's abilties in gaming are mediocre.

Hmm...well it's not bad. I thought it was rather quite impressive when I used my Revo. for gaming. It seems to be a mixed bag for most people.

Reason I'm not using the Revo. at least in this computer? It's in another setup being used for audio.

I was thinking of trying it out just for the hell of it, ain't got much to lose. But this is onboard audio, I hope that doesn't make that much difference.

The Audiotrak Prodigy performs pretty well in games, though not as good as an Audigy. Performs much better than the equivalent M-Audio card.

I gave it a go but had some issues with a few games. Sound was all messed up and muffled.
Sounded nice playing music but I need my gaming....back to the Audigy 2 for me
