well this gay stuff used to occur on my live when i ran 98SE
keep switching the PCI slots all around and you MIGHT get something, but this might be more a motherboard issue though. what i would do is get the latest drivers for your board and try switching it around PCI slots it worked for me when i switched them around sometimes. |

What is your operating system? I know Windows 2000 had some PCI card detecting problems when I used to have it. Not sure about 98/98SE.

should try checking for IRQ conflicts in the system, This website should help you work out if it is an IRQ issue or not…

Crap, I just put together my new rig and I have the same freakin problem with my new Zs
I have tried moving it around to different PCI slots but still no go. I can see it in device manager and so does windows at boot up but the drivers won't. My old Audigy 2 never did this but of course that was a completely different setup. I too need help...bad lol. Thanks |

Okay, I found this thread where they recommend to run the CTCOMP.exe but it still doesn't work. It looks for a data1.hdr file and I patched all I could find in ATi and nForce folders but it still doesn't work. But it might be worth a shot for you hv3, you never know lol.
I though, still need help Edit- Oops forgot the link lol http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?t=334518 |

try using driver-cleaner to get rid of the old CL drivers
also make sure there is a device of somesort showing in the device manager - the drivers won't install if nothing shows

It was always detected in device manager as Multimedia Audio Controller and PCI Input device which is what makes this so weird. But I did run DriverCleaner and when it detected it at startup I just let windows search the cd and install them by itself. Guess what? It worked!!! I installed the other two small updates off the web and they worked too. Thanks much, DH cleaner to the resque once again lol
Thanks a lot dj! Edit- The only thing that suxs though is that I can't use any of the appz. Even now if I put the cd in it says there's no Audigy installed... Damn Creative drivers lol |

i can't say i have ever used creative apps… they seem useless
but try using drivercleaner a,d then putting the cd in before you install the driver updates

Tried that but nothing seems to work off the cd. It will install the drivers off the cd if windows searches it but nothing else.
I'm thinking the cd is busted or something. Oh well, thx for all the help bud, I really appreciate it. |
