I have had an audigy LS since about a month or 2 after they first came out (id say thats about 6-8 months now). Anyways I cant complain about the sound quality it sounds very good I have never had any noise or popping from the speakers or anything, and i am hooked up to a surround system. However it seems to be a major CPU hog. When i ran 3dmark my framerates dropped way more than half of what they were w/o sound. I compared my score to someone w/ a very similar system and we had about the same score w/o sound, but w/ sound he totally crushed me. I thought maybe i had somekinda IRQ conflict or that maybe i had 2 things sharing the same IRQ, but i couldnt find anything. Another thing is that the support/forums for the LS is harder to find because it is not as common as the other cards. In my opinion i would spend the extra $20-$30 and go for the Audigy 2 ZS.
Hope that helps Kevin |

The LS is very low end.... it'll get you by but be warned.... pretty well nill preformance and quality in comparison to the ZS.... the LS is basically a updated version of the Creative soud blaster 16...

I dont thinks its quite that bad judas it is 24bit and supports 5.1 surround, but i dont really have anything to compare the sound too (except AC97). It sounds fine to me, but if i had to do it over i would fork out the few extra dollars for the ZS

audigy LS takes more CPU cycles than the other audigy/audigy2 cards due to the software emulation required to support certain aspects that are hardware based on the true audigy cards (10k2 chips)
