Thumbs Down! Audigy 2 Platinum eX + Megaworks 650Ds help please

hey all, i'm new so be gentle
basically it came to that time of year when i was gonna format (was setting up Raid 0 too) but i had lost my Audigy 2 Platinum eX installation CD (drivers and programs). so i consulted the nice people over at OCUK. great i thought they linked me here to the
Guide: How to install Sounblaster Audigy 2ZS drivers on Live!/Audigy/Audigy 2
so i downloaded all that was necessary. put it on a dvdrw. formatted my pc. then put all this on my HD, then following the instructions on the guide i installed all the software i had downloaded. everything seemed to work ok, looked exactly the same as it did on my previous installation. so i put everything back to the values which they were at before.
6.1
79% Master Volume
100% Wave/MIDI/CD
All inputs muted
CMSS 2 selected with balance at 0%

and got WMP9 like i had previously(with the volume set at 100% in that too, just like before) bare in mind that when i had these settings before everything worked perfectly, no crackles, no hisses just great sound quality coming from my Megaworks 650Ds!
now i get this intermittant crackling from the front and rear left speakers, if they are left at equal volumes to the rest of the speakers. so i am having to run the front left speaker at 80% with the rear left at 90% to prevent what was awful crackling! all the other speakers remain at 100% and are perfect still just like how they were before, the subwoofer seems to be exactly the same too! just the two sets of left speakers. so i tried the following:
switching speakers (still same effect)
switching cables from Audigy 2 around (still the same, but the crackling now went to what was now the left set of speakers)
unplugging it all and rewiring (stll exactly the same)
then i uninstalled everything and tried those project drivers which i find awful also, and still had the same effect.
so i then have done that Audigy 2 ZS thing again, this time with more success, no the rear left can stay at 100% and the front at 85%, but i still have to have whichever media player i use at 40%!!!
this is all starting to get a touch frustrating! as i cannot find anywhere to get the audigy drivers i actually require! other than buying the CD from creative. but even then i am doubting this will do any good.
so does anyone here have any experience of something like this? and is there anyway you can help me to getting my settings back how they were without this crackling from the left? i cant even listen to music as loud as I used to because the settings on the media players have to be so low
sorry for such a long first thread, and if you need anymore info please ask if it helps to understand
thanks for reading, and thanks for any help that you may provide

System Specs

sounds like there's interference affecting the outputs
