Firewire not installing with audigy...

I need some help with my firewire connection. I downloaded and installed the latest audigy 2 drivers using the guide here, but my firewire doesn't work. The device manager says it doesn't have any drivers installed. I'm currently using windows xp. Anyone know why the firewire driver won't install?

I know the drivers are on the CL disk. If you don't have this resolved by tomorrow night, I will look closer. I've had this problem before but I need to get to sleep for work tomorrow.

I no longer have the A2 disk so here is where it should be. Look under the 1394 folder on your install disk. You should find an install program called "DVCon340.exe" or something similar. Just run that to install your drivers.

Is there any exclamation points near this device? If it is just appearing there with no conflicts then it is installed correctly.

It's shown in other devices with a quesiton mark and an exclamation mark next to it, but the name is right.

Strange...I wonder if it is actually installed but there might be some kind of IRQ conflict. Have you check your IRQ's?

if it IS an irq conflit, you may have to reposition your card in another PCI slot.
This page should help you diagnose and solve this problem

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that it's the card itself. Tried installing all sorts of drivers, and when I tried installing the kX drivers, the computer just halted. I ordered a audigy 2 zs... hope it'll fix my problem...

kX drivers still don't affect the IEEE1394 part…

Maybe so, but it might be that the card is broken also. The PC simply crashes if I try to install the KX drivers on it, and if I play audio, the card randomly crashes the computer. Not that a biggie... I already have an Audigy 2 ZS on the way.
