No rear out without "Audio HQ?"
say it isnt so. . .winxp cant seem to turn on the rear speaks, and I tossed the CD with AudioHQ!

this is due to creative's CMSS "technology"
it upsamples any stereo sound to 4-6 channels try using BBP's guide for audiogy 2 drivers to see if you can get this back

Man, I can't believe Creative doesn't offer their crappy software for download!
Anyway, I finally found it after mining Google forEVER. You need the Surround Mixer and Audio HQ to activate the rear channels (and I am now playing D3 with a poor man's surround setup - Klipsch 2.1 up front, and an ancient Altec Lansing 2.1 taking up the rear - what a contrast). rasta p.s.
